Day of JudgementThe sky was dark with ominous clouds, providing a fitting backdrop. The rumbles of thunder she could hear matched well with the rumble of irritation inside her head. Basaina had managed to gather up her courage enough to talk to Sheila about it, because it wasn't getting better and damn it, she was scared. The black Ninetales before her looked... normal, which was good. It was when the voice took over that her targets began to be bathed in red, like blood, as if to enrage her further.

Flames in the DarkThe sun was setting, or, at least, she hoped it was. The sky, streaked with red, pink and gold, was one of her favourite memories. The colours of fire - the same fire that had leaped from her jaws to burn an opponent. There was no sun here, no moon or stars to gaze up at. Light filtered through the bars of her prison as it jolted down the road. She knew the destination, as it had been engraved in her mind. The crowded, filthy pit of decay, also known as one of the underground fighting arenas. She could always tell when they were close to arrival - the reek of blood, sweat and death was overpowering.

Chained JackalHow did I get here…?   
That was the only intelligent thought in my mind as I awoke in a cold dark room. I could feel fresh blood cooling on my face, running into my eyes like glacial red rivers. I quickly found it hard to breath as my chest throbbed from breath ice cold air, more cuts and slashes along my arms and torso singing in the frozen air. I wasn’t sure if it was night or day, only knowing that I was in a windowless room filled with the sound of raging wind outside. As my mind started to thaw out, a old panic rested in my mind.

Smoke SignalsThe night was silent and cold, no signs of life could be detected among the shadows that litters the ground and claim the sleeping Sunflora in it’s frozen claws.  The only figure in the night that looks out of place in the night scene of the field is the unmoving train on it’s tracks.   
Flare.   
A single flare of fire appears on the roof of the train. The flame too small to be from a fire type, but big enough to light a single white stick before disappearing back in it’s container. Judgement DayThat Arcanine isn’t Basaina. The real Basaina was witty and loved to snark. The real Basaina was rust-colored and beautiful. That Arcanine is all black and white with blank eyes. That Arcanine is too powerful, even for one of the best in the Underground. Even I, stuck in here, could remember the real Basaina from what I saw through Sheila‘s eyes. I do not recognize that Arcanine.   
 
Rurenai watches helplessly from the sidelines as I make myself known on my own once more. Sheila has allowed it for once, not that I needed her permission.

Starlit RendezvousThe sea air of the night blows through the window of the bridge, causing the fur tied back on my head to flick at my neck. I lean on the steering wheel and look out at the night, the stars reflecting on the ocean surface. I let out a pleased sigh as the soft waves crash against the side of the ship, the moon’s light giving the sea a silver glow.   
“Beautiful…”   
I let out a soft yawn as I turn the engine off for the night, ready to settle down for one of my rare naps on the ship when the soft scent of ashes and lightly singed fur reached me. I move away from the wheel and out the door, following the f Starlit Rendezvous

Overload of Awesome

Alright. I want to bash my head in with my keyboard right now. Why? Because I just took three days to read a fanfic with 79 chapters, that totals up to nearly 900,000 words. Three days of utter addiction to the plot. Perhaps some explanation is in order. :P I've just read all that's written of Two Worlds Combined, a Tales of Symphonia fanfic that is a self-insert. Cue gasps of horror and shock. I dislike self-inserts. Most that I have read are utterly Sue-ish. They're just so... convenient. BUT! TWC is bursting with anti-Sue-ness. Alright, maybe not bursting, but... it was so amazing that I cried. I don't tear up often - except for Nes Mikel's work, but that is just so awesome that I have to cry. Anyways, total reading obsession aside... I want to read it again. Marathon style. And leap up and down unil Venus Tenshi updates it, and then dash through the chapter and jump up and down once more.

I am right now in the mood to read all of its bulk again, and try to fit it into a day. I also want to write something, and I also want to kick my Wiimote until it responds and play Tales of Symphonia like there's no tomorrow. ...All at the same time. Waaah. My brain feels overworked. XD Since my Wii isn't working and I have no Gamecube anymore, I can't play ToS. I can write, but the problem is that I'd probably try to write something that would imitate it, and that is baaaad. I don't want to do that. I mean, I want to, but I would just get disappointed with myself once the rush is over, so.. >> Um. I think I'm just going to revamp Legend's Rage and try to get a few chapters in, whlst ignoring the essay I have to write for tomorrow. Ew, homework.
